Welcome to our new Musical Production: MATILDA!

Welcome all back!

Most of you, already know that this year we are going to work on a beautiful production, the famous book of Roald Dahl, MATILDA.

Let me first answer a question, I'm sure a lot of you have: Why again a musical?

Musicals provide young people with many valuable development opportunities.

A musical brings together all of the arts in one comprehensive program:
Music and dance introduce basic performing arts.
The design and creation of sets, costumes and props integrate visual arts.
Rehearsing and performing dialogue develops language skills.
Integrating sound and lighting requires the use of technology.

In addition, the process of presenting a musical offers young people the opportunity to develop social skills and learn valuable life lessons. Some examples:
  • In a musical, everyone's contribution is important.
  • Everyone must work together for the greater good, encouraging collaboration and community.
  • You will learn the importance of listening to each other speak and waiting one's turn
  • You will take positive risks and conquer fears while building self-confidence.
  • The rehearsal process includes a respect for the personal space of the others.
  • We become aware that hard work and having fun naturally go together
The best part?

A musical is a lot of fun for everyone involved - whether you create sets, manage the box office, sing in the chorus, or play the lead.

So,

CURTAINS UP!
